The Course was initially built in 1958, was one of the first golf courses to be constructed in the Pattaya area. In early 1988, the facilities and course layout were completely updated, in a joint venture between the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Japan Golf Professional Company. Bangpra Golf Club was the first project of its kind, to purposely be constructed, to promote golf tourism in Thailand.

Awaiting you on this challenging golf course is a mature parkland environment, full of tall trees of many varieties of plants and shrubs. The course is laid out over uneven land in a gently sloping valley surrounded by densely wooded arears. There are lots of tropical plants and bougainvillea bushes of many colours on every hole around the course, making this Golf Course one of the prettiest to play in Pattaya.

The favourite holes at Bangpra are to be found amongst the front nine, which is played around a very natural domain at the foot of small tree-clad hills. The par-3 2nd, with a Tee shot across the water and long par-4 3rd are the attractive highlights on the outward nine, which include excellent bunkering and dangerous water hazards, which combine to good effect. With the relatively tight and well-bunkered short par-4 6th makes a gentle move up the wooded hillside of the course, which is then followed by the Monster long par-5 7th (622 yards from the tee to green) which brings you gently back down the slope.

The flatter back-nine does not quite live up to the expectations, of the excellent front nine. The inward holes are not without their own challenges, with several good-width fairways bordered by light semi-rough appear generous from the Tee. The par-3 12th and long par-3 17th both require tee-to-green shots over water, while the testing 12th, 13th and 15th holes, also need approach shots over water to reach the safety of the uniformly circular, slightly elevated and often dome-shaped greens. The par-4 18th is a reminder that not all the fairways look 'comfortably wide' from the tee.

The fabulous modern clubhouse comes lavishly furnished; the large locker rooms also feature Japanese style baths. The clubhouse restaurant specializes in Japanese cuisine which makes for after golf dining, well suited to those who prefer this type of food.

The mature course at Bangpra Golf Course is a nice change from the newer and more heavily promoted Pattaya golf courses and is an excellent choice for golfers who like to play well-established golf courses.
